Education Among the Mennonites of America

The author, a professor at Bluffton College's Witmarsum Seminary, traces the history and ethics of Mennonitism as a whole before discussing early American schools, Christopher Dock, Sunday Schools, and parochial schools. Hartzler goes on to discuss the Mennonite colleges and institutions of his day, offering critiques of what he calls "extreme conservatism" and urging the church to choose educated men as leaders.
